The book, Creative Commons for Educators and Librarians, is now published under CC BY and offers an additional way to access the openly licensed CC Certificate content. It’s available in print at the ALA store, or it can be downloaded from our website!

You can read this book on its own or while taking the CC Certificate course.

Practical Guidelines on Open Education for Academics: modernising higher education via open educational practices

These guidelines are for the academic staff of higher education institutions, with the goal of helping them move towards the use of open educational practices (OEP) in order to widen participation in education. The guidelines are meant to provide an understanding of each of the ten dimensions of open education based on the OpenEdu Framework (JRC, 2016), and to show how academics can start using OEP to prompt inclusion and innovation as important values, starting from their day-to-day activities such as teaching, knowledge creation and research.

Net-Art; Remote online digital studio art course

Net-Art is a remote online digital studio art course intended to expose and expand the vocabulary of new media art to the student’s personal visual statements.

Students are expected to produce a related series of electronic art works with a concentration on experimentation and the transcendence of ideas.

Through various processes, both manual and technology based, students will be exposed to the use and application of electronic media via desktop and mobile art practice. Students may reference their work in conjunction with prior interests in drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, installation, video & performance art as well as any other inter-disciplinary subjects of interest.

Open Education Group, interdisciplinary research group

The Open Education Group is an interdisciplinary research group that conducts original, rigorous, empirical research on the impact of OER adoption on a range of educational outcomes and designs and shares methodological and conceptual frameworks for studying the impact of OER adoption. We also teach courses in topics relating to open education.
